Nodongga-ryu (勞動歌類)

It is one of Gasa-ryu (type) about the process of labors. It was sang by women to relieve the boredom of having to repeat the same movements for the kind of work they perform in marriage.

The lyrics are based on the words of the loom song that was sung during weaving. It explains about the reason why a heavenly fairy comes down to the earth and weaves hemp cloth, and tells that this is the writer herself. The characteristic of the lyrics is that it includes the names of the loom’s parts.
