Sijeolga-ryu – Song of specific time periods

It is one of Gasa-ryu (type) in which a married woman talks about how time has passed and sings about her situation. Unlike general Tansikga, it is characterized by representing changes of seasons.

The lyrics are about the ravages of Korean War. It states that it is difficult to live the life as per 60 Ganji as thieves come over like a flood and dead bodies are piled up like Gusan. After listing various names of region such as Punggi Geumgyechon and Yecheon Geumdanggok, she says that it is difficult to live even after taking refuge. The writer concludes the piece by stating how regretful it is for people shedding their blood.
