Yeokdaega-ryu (歷代歌類)

It is one of Gasa-ryu (type) that sings about past kings in China and important historical events and figures in Korean history. It was mainly transcribed in the intention of history education for women.

It sings about the rise and fall of the Joseon dynasty with Hanyang as its capital. At the end, it states “Sinmi Jeongwol Choguil Jong (finishing up with the 9 day of the first month of the year of Sinmi, 辛未 正月 初九日 終)” and also says “Ojak nakseomansabgo guelsi chindongmandong haodoe nulreo gamjakhasio budui 〃 Yeonsun(演順) eun pilhanoida,” passing along the request for its good storage and showing the information of the transcriber.

It is the transcribed copy of Hanyang Obaeknyeonga (500 years of history), the historical lyrics (詠史歌詞) that sings about the rise and fall of the Joseon dynasty with Hanyang as its capital. It contains the contents up to Danjong, especially things related to integrity of Seong Sam-mun in Gyeyujeongnan. One district feature of this piece is having multiple transcribers. The original writer and four others (Ok-nan, Chang-mo, Yeonghamo, and Gyu-sik) took turn in writing the piece. There are many traces of typos and corrections.
